Little WALTER - Confessin' The Blues 1974
Blues
Although this reads as a seventies release, these are tracks recorded between 1953 and 1959, with one sixties track.
On vinyl, Chess Vintage series, it sounds big, bold and beautiful.
This is the best blues album of my modest collection of about 40 great blues LPs. The musicians on these tracks are the who's who of blues (incl. Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, Otis Spann, Buddy Guy, Louis Myers, David Myers, Fred Below).
Not a duff track. And, of course, Little Walter is the harmonica player who, as the liner notes state: "was the most innovative, fluent, inventive and powerful player ever to handle the instrument."
Makes me so ecstatic I'm gonna wrap it and give it to myself for Christmas.
