Eric CLAPTON, Jeff BECK, Jimmy PAGE - Guitar Boogie 1971

Eric CLAPTON, Jeff BECK, Jimmy PAGE - Guitar Boogie 1971
LSP 4624(e),AYL1-3768(e)

Blues

"Guitar Boogie" is also the name of a song written by musician by Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith.
Guitar Boogie is a compilation blues album with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page, with additional credit to The Allstars. Most songs on this album were written by Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck or Jimmy Page.[2] Guitar Boogie was released as a part of a British Archives series and is rare in that form. The album was re-released in the US in 1977 by Pickwick Records. Only two of the guitarists appear on any given track. Jeff Beck does not appear on any of the Page/Clapton numbers. Similarly, Clapton doesn't appear on the Allstars tracks.
Jeff Beck's two tracks were recorded in 1963 and can be found on several different compilations.

This instrumental LP of seminal British blues rock features Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page in some of their earliest recorded works, from 1963-1966 I believe. It is outstanding and bears repeated listening. It shows how these artists were formed and where they came from. It was not super-popular at the time it was compilied and released in 1971 because it has no vocals, and rock had moved on into and past the "Sunshine of Your Love" and "Whole Lotta Love" stages by then, but it is truly an excellent piece.

ERIC CLAPTON & Jeff BECK - Listen To Jeff, Eric! 2009

ERIC CLAPTON & Jeff BECK - Listen To Jeff, Eric! 2009
Bootleg
Live at the Saitama Super Arena, Saitama, Japan. February 22, 2009.
(Don´t Remember ,Who Sent This..)

Blues

On the second night in Saitama, both Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck delivered an assured and entertaining show. These are pros and fans can expect no less. For his set, Jeff Beck added Big Block and Where Were You while omitting Blue Wind. Clapton included crowd pleasers such as Key To The Highway, I Shot The Sheriff and Wonderful Tonight while giving Little Queen Of Spades and Before You Accuse Me a rest. The setlist for the Clapton-Beck portion remained the same as the first night.

This is what an enthusiastic Jii Aoi wrote on the Clapton fansite, whereseric.com: “As if Eric’s presence was a catalyst, Jeff returned to his blues/soul/R&B roots and found out his alter-ego. He bent, bent and then bent the strings, something he wouldn’t do as much on his usual performances; throwing blues licks one after another, blow by blow indeed. ‘Breathtaking’ is the word that is apt to describe his solos tonight. No one will ever forget his bulldozing sonic assault in Brown Bird, the very instant he finished it, Eric called out, ‘Jeff Beck!’ and the loud cheers erupted from the whole crowd that filled the arena. Tonight, Jeff was not so much the smart fusion/crossover guitar virtuoso, as we have recognized him for the last 30 years or so, as a tough blues-gut rocker that he was in the ’60s a la The Yardbirds and The Jeff Beck Group. In turn, Eric replied with an aggressive solo in the next tune, Wee Wee Baby. Oh yeah, together they took us higher!”

Eric Clapton - Nothing but the Blues (DvdRip)

Eric Clapton - Nothing but the Blues (DvdRip)
Clapton's 1994 concert at the Fillmore San Francisco - November 8 and 9, 1994

Blues

This is just breathtaking, and any Clapton/blues fan should try and get a hold of a copy. His playing is incendiary, especially on 'Early in the morning', 'Groaning the blues', 'it hurts me too', and 'Ain't Nobody's Business', which starts off with just the piano and vocal, and Clapton finishes off with an amazing solo, just drenched in sweat.
